Running backs are special players. They willingly embrace double-digit touches and run straight into defenses to fight for every yard for their team, all with the goal of helping their teammates get a win. Dallas Cowboys workhorse Ezekiel Elliott is no different.

Elliott is currently dealing with a calf injury, but he's not letting it keep him out of his team's Week 14 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Players sometimes have selfish intentions if they're playing through an injury, but not Elliott. He knows how much his presence can impact a game, so he's planning to get down in the trenches for his teammates.

I think it's important, one, just because we're not out of it. Then two, just for my brothers. That's why I go out there and play. I go out there and play for my brothers and my teammates. I'm not going to sell them short.

The Cowboys have been ravaged by injuries this year. Star QB Dak Prescott was lighting the league on fire before an ankle injury ended his season abruptly in Week 5. Fulling knowing this, Elliott is prepared to run for his teammates until he can't. It's nothing short of inspiring from one of the team's leaders.

At 3-9, it's been a down year for Dallas. But Elliott is trying his best to end the year with some positive momentum for the 2021 season.
