Evan Engram was looking like a breakout tight end for fantasy purposes at the start of the season, as he opened 2019 with a pair of 100-yard games and scored two touchdowns through the first three weeks of the year.

Unfortunately, Engram's 2019 campaign has been derailed by injuries, and the young tight end will now miss his fourth straight game.

Engram has been battling a foot injury that has sidelined him since Week 9. With Rhett Ellison also set to miss this week's game, the New York Giants will start Kaden Smith, who is coming off back-to-back solid outings.

Smith doesn't draw a great matchup though, as the Giants take on the Philadelphia Eagles in the Week 14 "Monday Night Football" game. Philadelphia has surrendered the eighth-fewest points per game to opposing tight ends this season.

With Eli Manning starting for the injured Daniel Jones, Smith isn't a recommended fantasy option this week.

While Engram will be out Monday night, he has a chance to swing some matchups in the fantasy football playoffs, provided he can get back on the field. The Giants play the Dolphins in Week 15, and Miami has the worst pass defense in the league, according to Football Outsiders' DVOA metric.

Engram is far from a sure thing to suit up next week, but he could be really valuable in Week 15, assuming he can get healthy.
