When New York Giants tight end Evan Engram broke into the league four years ago, some people thought he'd become one of the NFL's top pass-catchers for years to come. He put up over 700 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns as a rookie, but he hasn't reached those heights since. Injuries forced Engram to miss a lot of time throughout his career, leading to his play dropping off.

Fortunately, Engram managed to stay healthy last year and play in each of New York's 16 games. His fantasy outlook features the potential for him to finish the 2021 NFL season as a top-10 tight end.

Evan Engram Fantasy Outlook

One of the biggest things that Engram has going for him is his target count. The 26-year-old led all Giants pass-catchers with 109 targets last season, turning that into 63 receptions for 654 yards and a touchdown. Considering how Engram will likely be one of third-year quarterback Daniel Jones' top options again, it would be surprising for the tight end to see similar targets again in 2021.

Back in March, Giants head coach Joe Judge told reporters that Engram would be heavily featured in New York's offense during the 2021 season. Granted, that was nearly six months ago, but that doesn't change the fact that the Giants will give Engram the chance to succeed after a Pro Bowl year.

Another thing that bodes well for Engram and the rest of the Giants pass-catchers is the return of running back Saquon Barkley. Barkley will return to practice this week and add an extra layer to New York's offense in the regular season that they didn't have last year. Once Barkley's back in the backfield, opposing teams will start to focus on him which will open up the field for Engram and the other pass-catchers.

Assuming Engram can stay healthy and Judge stays true to his word, there's no reason why he can't finish as a top-10 tight end this fantasy football season.
