There's an old adage which says: "every dog has it's day." Well, on the ESPN campus, that day is August 24.

The ESPN family of networks will literally be going to the dogs this upcoming Saturday, Aug. 24, for "ESPN Dog Day," a 12-hour programming block celebrating man's best friend. The full slate can be viewed by clicking on the link in the tweet below.

The Dog Day afternoon will begin at 11:30 a.m. EST with the ESPN Dog Day Preshow hosted by Katie Nolan, which will be available for streaming on the ESPN App.

From 12 p.m. EST on, ESPN2 and ESPNews will air a combined 12-hour programming block featuring variety of canine competitions and other dog-related sports event, such as the 2019 AKC Agility Premier Cup and Flyball: The Ultimate Dog Relay, highlighted by a 4 p.m. EST showing of Disney's Air Bud on ESPN2.

Whether you're sick as a dog or just dog-tired from a long week at work, curling up in front of the television to watch the all the best boys and girls on ESPN is a great way to decompress and spend your weekend.
