Secret Oath currently has 7-2 odds to win the Preakness Stakes in 2022. That has him as the second favorite in the Preakness Stakes, only behind Epicenter. Early Voting drew the 5th post position for the Preakness Stakes, a desirable spot in the middle.

Early Voting Horse Trainer and Jockey

Early Voting is trained by Chad Brown. The 43 year old trainer is already very accomplished, having ranked number 1 in earnings every year from 2016-2019 and also won the Eclipse Award for Outstanding Trainer each of those years. He won his first and only Preakness Stakes in 2017 and also has an impressive 15 wins at the Breeders’ Cup.  

Jose Ortiz will be the jockey for Early Voting. Although Ortiz has never won the Preakness Stakes, he has won the Belmont Stakes in 2017 and has three Breeders’ Cup wins. Ortiz is a well-respected jockey, having won the Eclipse Award for Outstanding Jockey in 2017 and consistently ranking in the top eight in jockey earnings over the last decade.
