The injuries are starting to pile up in the Philadelphia Eagles' secondary. With only two healthy safeties currenly on the active roster, Philadelphia's depth is running thin ahead of Week 15.
To help give that unit a boost, the Eagles are bringing back a former player.
Philadelphia is signing veteran Anthony Harris on Tuesday, according to his agents. Harris was released by the Denver Broncos after Week 13, clearing the way for this reunion.
Prior to playing for Denver, Harris spent the 2021 campaign with the Eagles. He started in all 14 appearances he made, recording an interception and three passes defended.
Harris, who played his first six seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, gives Philadelphia an experienced player capable of helping out this banged-up secondary. Ballhawk C.J. Garnder-Johnson is on the injured reserve list with a lacerated kidney, and surprise undrafted rookie Reed Blankenship went down this past weekend with a knee injury that could sideline him for several games.
It'd be no surprise to see Harris feature prominently right away for the Eagles in Week 15 against the Chicago Bears. Philadelphia is an 8.5-point favorite in that matchup, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
