Future Hall of Fame center Dwight Howard spent last season in the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers. This season he failed to find an NBA team to sign with. Instead of waiting around for a call, Howard has decided to take his talents overseas for the first time in his career.
Howard is signing with the Taoyuan Leopards in Taiwan.
He announced his decision via the team's instagram page
Howard, one of the best centers in NBA history, had seen both his production and playing time decline over the past five consecutive seasons during time spent with four different teams. Howard should be able to turn back the clock in Taiwan though, where the level of competition is certainly lower and dozens of aging NBA players have seen success over the years.
Stephon Marbury is probably the most notable player of the generation to really make a name for himself overseas in China, turning into a superstar again, looking like he was in his prime NBA form.
Howard should expect to do the same. Maybe it even lands him a look or two from NBA teams.
