The Houston Astros were one of the most active teams at the MLB trade deadline, acquiring first baseman Trey Mancini and catcher Christian Vazquez. Fans aren't going to have to wait long to see them in action with their new team. Both players are in manager Dusty Baker's lineup on Wednesday.

Baker has Mancini slated to hit seventh and he is followed right behind by Vazquez at eighth. As expected, veterans Yuli Gurriel and Martin Maldonado will be on the bench. This is in order to give the new guys an opportunity to make an immediate impact against a right-handed pitcher in Brayan Bello.

Mancini was brought in via a three-team trade in which Houston sent away center fielder Joe Siri and pitching prospect Chayce McDermott. The 30-year-old owns a career slash line of .270/.334/.463 and has smacked 10 home runs in 2022. He has also logged 39 runs scored, 16 doubles and 44 RBI.

Meanwhile, Vazquez was acquired from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for a pair of prospects in Enmanuel Valdez and Wilyer Abreu. The eighth-year pro is best known for his defense behind the plate (45 career defensive runs saved) and occasional pop at the plate (54 career home runs).

Astros general manager James Click raved about Mancini and Vazquez in terms of their ability to make contact against opposing pitchers. At the very least, Houston has added two powerful bench bats to use in pinch-hitting situations. At the very best, Houston has added two everyday starters.

The Astros have the third-best odds to win the World Series at +430, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
