Donte Moncrief Could Be Post-Hype Sleeper With Steelers in 2019 Fantasy Football
By Max Staley

It's hard to believe that Donte Moncrief is still just 25 years old. He's been viewed as a fantasy sleeper ever since he entered the league back in 2014. Moncrief has played for the Indianapolis Colts, the Jacksonville Jaguars and he's now set to catch passes from Ben Roethlisberger for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
While Moncrief has burned some fantasy owners in the past, there's reason to believe that he could excel in Pittsburgh, as he's opened up as the No. 2 WR, alongside JuJu Smith-Schuster in training camp.

The Steelers have done an abnormally good job at producing top-tier fantasy WRs lately. Last season, both JuJu and Antonio Brown finished as top-10 WRs in standard scoring leagues. The year prior, both finished within the top 20.
If Moncrief steps into the No. 2 role this year, it's not unreasonable to expect him to finish as a low-end WR2. He's proven he can be productive at the NFL level, racking up 733 yards and six TDs in 2015, though he's struggled with consistency throughout his career.
However, playing with the Steelers could help solve this. Pittsburgh is arguably the best offense Moncrief has ever played in, since Andrew Luck was dealing with injuries for much of his tenure with the Colts. Someone will have to help account for the 168 targets AB saw last season, and Moncrief is as good a bet as any.

Currently being drafted as WR58 (165th overall), according to FantasyPros, you can likely get Moncrief toward the end of your draft. He's a player with WR2 upside, yet he's being drafted outside of the top-50 wide receivers.
You can't ask for much more than that out of a late-round gamble in fantasy.
