Donovan Smith Extends Contract so Bucs Can Bring Back Ndamukong Suh

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are having the kind of offseason fans dream of.
The Super Bowl 55 champs got Tom Brady back under center on a team-friendly deal. And with all of the available salary they've been freeing up, the team that won them the championship last season is largely still in-tact for 2021.
And now, thanks to a contract restructure for offensive lineman Donovan Smith, that includes Ndamukong Suh.

The 34-year-old defensive tackles isn't the elite defender he once was, but Suh graded out solidly against the run (67.0) and in the pass-rush department (65.1) on Pro Football Focus in 2020.
He was also integral, along with the rest of the Bucs' defensive front, in shutting down Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs' offense in the Super Bowl.
And as for Smith? He got a hefty extension that freed up some cap space for 2021.
Bucs’ and OT Donovan Smith reached agreement on a two-year, $31.8 million contract extension through 2023 that now includes $30 million guaranteed over the next two seasons, per sources.
