The wide receiver room for the Cleveland Browns may seem top heavy, but it is hard to overlook how dominating second-year player Donovan Peoples-Jones has been in training camp. His ability to haul in one contested catch after another has caused his fantasy outlook for the NFL season to explode.
Donovan Peoples-Jones Fantasy Outlook
Peoples-Jones has done everything he needed to in the offseason to make some noise on this roster. The 22-year-old has constantly worked out with quarterback Baker Mayfield and built up muscle in the weight room. It is paying off so far as the coaching staff has began to take notice.
Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry are expected to take one their usual starting roles, but the No. 3 role is up for grabs after that. Peoples-Jones may even have a leg up on Rashard Higgins after he racked up 304 yards and 2 touchdowns on 14 receptions (21.7 average) during the 2020 season.
While Peoples-Jones ceiling is likely only a WR3 in fantasy football, his average draft position is climbing as a potential weekly FLEX player. His current ADP is No. 106 amongst wide receivers in PPR leagues, according to FantasyPros. That number is sure to grow before the season kicks off.
Peoples-Jones is easily worth a look given he is practically free in drafts. The former sixth-round pick has a shot to surprise some people if the Browns enroll some more passing plays in their offense. There is almost no risk involved with taking Peoples-Jones, but definitely a lot of potential reward.
