Miami Dolphins fans know first-hand how valuable it can be to give a CFL standout a shot at the NFL level. Cameron Wake made the transition in 2009 and racked up 98.0 sacks over 10 years in Miami.
Apparently inspired by the success of that move, the Dolphins are expected to sign the CFL's 2019 "Most Outstanding Rookie" award winner, linebacker Nate Holley.
With the CFL season cancelled, Holley will be released by the Calgary Stampeders to pursue an NFL career.
Holley burst onto the scene in 2019 by making 100 tackles for the Stamps (78 on defense and 22 on special teams) while adding 1 sack and 1 interception.
Before playing in the CFL, Holley was a standout safety at Kent State, racking up 424 tackles and 7 pass breakups across his four seasons.
Holley is still just 25 years old, and considering the Dolphins' history with signing former CFL Most Outstanding Rookie winners, fans in Miami have to be pretty excited about this move.
