Dolphins Could Receive Boost From NFL Schedule in 2021
The Miami Dolphins turned a corner last season after finishing with a 10-6 record. While this team just missed the playoffs and hasn't made an appearance since 2016, the narrative seems to be shifting in Miami.
The Dolphins could receive a serious boost from the NFL schedule in 2021 with hopes of breaking the playoff drought.
According to ESPN's Mike Clay, the Dolphins own the fifth easiest schedule in the entire league for 2021. The order of games has not been set, but we known the opponents Miami will face based on the current construction of the league's yearly schedule.
Dolphins Schedule 2021
Clay used known opponents and the current construction of league rosters to come up with his strength of schedule projection. Although this projection is based on a random order of games, all of Miami's opponents are set in stone. The Dolphins' 2021 schedule features only seven opponents from last year's playoff field.
Miami finally found their future at quarterback last season with Tua Tagovailoa making nine starts under center. He threw for 11 touchdowns in those nine starts and added three more on the ground.
The Dolphins also added an impressive and familiar weapon for Tagovailoa to throw to. Miami drafted his former Alabama teammate, receiver Jaylen Waddle, with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
As it stands, FanDuel Sportsbook is giving the Dolphins +1400 odds to win the AFC. This team definitely can make some noise given the favorable schedule.
