Los Angeles Dodgers Projected 2020 Win Total is Disrespectful

The Los Angeles Dodgers come into the 2020 season projected to be one of, if not the, best teams in the MLB. That is backed up by their projected 37.5 win total, which has them tied with the New York Yankees for the best such mark in the league, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

However, that may not be an accurate reflection of just how dominant this team can be.

From top to bottom you could argue the Dodgers have the best roster in baseball. With the addition of Mookie Betts to their already star-studded cast, the Dodgers should see some improvements this year.

It's also important to consider the division the Dodgers play in.

Outside of Los Angeles, the NL West might be the weakest division in baseball. In fact, they are so much better than the rest of the division, the Dodgers are already -500 favorites to take home the NL West crown. This is in addition to holding the best odds to win the 2020 World Series at +380, slightly ahead of the Yankees (+400).

No other team in their division projects to make the playoffs based on odds. The Arizona Diamondbacks have the best odds to win the NL Pennant outside of Los Angeles and they come in with the 10th-best odds at +2100.

So while the Dodgers are projected to win the most games, considering the talent they have and the division they play in, fans still should feel a bit slighted by the 37.5 win total.
