The Los Angeles Dodgers have an injury problem, at least at the shortstop position. The Dodgers have been without star shortstop Corey Seager since May 15 due to a right hand fracture that's kept him out of the lineup. His backup, 2B/SS Gavin Lux, has recently been sidelined with a hamstring issue.

Lux hasn't played in a week, and the Dodgers have been scrambling for options at shortstop. Not to mention, 2018 MVP outfielder Mookie Betts just landed on the 10-day injured list, but that's a whole different story.

Fortunately for Los Angeles, the Lux injury appears to be progressing quite nicely. According to reports, Lux worked on sprinting over the weekend and is further along with his injury rehab than expected.

On the year, Lux has seen action in 82 games across second base and shortstop. He's slashing .227/.307/.349 with a little bit of pop (6 home runs, 37 RBIs). Lux may be better suited for second base defensively, but he's done a solid job filling in for the injured Seager.

The Dodgers will hope to get either of these names back to the lineup and healthy as quickly as possible. Currently, Los Angeles sits 2.0 games back of the San Francisco Giants in the NL West race. The Dodgers are 61-40 overall. Regardless of the record, this team still owns the best odds (+380) to repeat as World Champions according to MLB odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
