Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver DeVonta Smith was awarded the Heisman Trophy last night. He became just the fourth wideout in NCAA history to win the award and is the first since Desmond Howard (who also played CB) to do it since 1991.

Unsurprisingly, Smith is also viewed as one of the best receivers in the 2021 NFL Draft class. Expected to come off the board in the top 10, here are three teams that need to target Smith in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Devonta Smith NFL Draft

3. Detroit Lions

Smith may not be on the board when the Detroit Lions are on the clock at No. 7, but it's certainly possible. And the reigning Heisman Trophy winner would be a great fit in Motown. The Lions are in danger of losing their No. 1 wideout to free agency in Kenny Golladay, and Smith would be an excellent replacement. If the Lions stick with Matthew Stafford, Smith would be a great get for this team.

2. Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles' skill-position group has been criticized all year long. GM Howie Roseman did pick WR Jalen Reagor in the first round last year, but that clearly wasn't enough. And Smith and Reagor could be an excellent pairing for years to come. Reagor is a downfield burner while Smith is more of a technician, dominating opponents with precise route-running ability and strong hands. Picking Smith could instantly turn a real weakness into a strength for Philadelphia.

1. Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins hold the No. 3 pick in the draft, via the Houston Texans. If they don't address the offensive line by taking Penei Sewell, a wide receiver like Smith or Ja'Marr Chase almost has to be the pick here. Tua Tagovailoa needs help. Though he struggled throughout his rookie year, his supporting cast left a lot to be desired. Adding Smith would instantly give Miami a young, dynamic receiving corps that can grow alongside their franchise QB. Plus, Tua and Smith played together at Alabama, so they should have some instant chemistry.
