Devonta Freeman has seen mixed results in his limited tenure as the New York Giants' replacement for the injured Saquon Barkley. In five games, he's racked up a total of 172 rushing yards, 1 touchdown and 58 receiving yards.
As the Giants prepare for their Week 10 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, Freeman's status for the game is starting to come into question.
While it still appears Freeman is on track to play, anytime you have a running back aggravating an ankle injury this late in the week, it leaves some cause for concern.
Wayne Gallman would be the lead back if Freeman wasn't able to go. Both backs could very well see action if Freeman suits up, as Gallman has impressed when filling in for Freeman of late.
Regardless, this will be a situation to monitor as game time approaches on Sunday.
