First-year Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell has made it clear he's ushering in a new era. Besides setting the tone with his quotes, the team decided to invest in size by selecting offensive tackle Penei Sewell and defensive tackle Levi Onwuzurike with its top two picks in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The Lions aren't done adding to their depth in the trenches either, as evidenced by their latest free-agent signing.

Brian Price Lions

Detroit signed DT Brian Price on Tuesday, giving this team another big body to hopefully help the defense get back on track.

The 6-foot-3, 322-pound Price went undrafted in 2016 before signing with the Green Bay Packers. He's bounced around the league since then, appearing in eight games for the Dallas Cowboys in 2017 and 12 games for the Cleveland Browns in 2018 before returning to the Packers in 2020.

The Lions have prioritized upgrading their DT situation this offseason. They traded for Los Angeles Rams DT Michael Brockers in March before selecting Onwuzurike, and Price gives them another option they can turn to for depth.

Detroit will have to hope fixing their holes in the trenches will pay dividends after giving up the most yards per game (419.8) in 2020.
