Teams in need of a quarterback and loaded with assets are already lining up for the chance to trade for Houston Texans star quarterback Deshaun Watson after his very public feud with the team. While there's been no official trade request yet, the outcome seems likely at this point.
After reports that Watson's preferred trade destination is the New York Jets, there's now some push back on that possibility.
The disgruntled QB has plenty of power over his team in this scenario given a no-trade clause in his contract, allowing Watson to hand pick where he goes.
There are a few teams around the league who have the potential to give the Texans the haul they're likely going to command for a star of Watson's caliber. The Jets make a lot of sense as a trade partner, but if Watson doesn't okay a deal, they're out of luck.
The Jacksonville Jaguars can center a trade package around the No. 1 pick for Watson, while the Miami Dolphins have both the No. 4 selection and young QB Tua Tagovailoa to offer Houston as well.
The Carolina Panthers have also emerged as a surprise suitor in the Watson sweepstakes as well.
It remains to be seen which team Watson will list as his No. 1 trade destination, although the saga should end relatively soon with the draft approaching.
