Deshaun Watson's fantasy output has been up and down to start the season, eclipsing 25 fantasy points twice and falling below 13 in his other two games heading into his Week 5 meeting with the Atlanta Falcons.
He then absolutely erupted in that game, notching the highest single-game fantasy score for any quarterback in 2019, scoring 41.7 points.
Watson shredded the Falcons, completing 84.8 percent of his passes (28 of 33) for 426 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions, adding 47 rushing yards on four carries.
Prior to this game, the most fantasy points Atlanta allowed to a QB in 2019 was 23.3 to Marcus Mariota in Week 4.
Watson's inconsistency prevents him from climbing into the conversation with Patrick Mahomes as the top quarterback in fantasy football, but he's proven, more than once, that with the right matchup his upside is as high as anyone's.
That inconsistency isn't likely to be an issue next week either, as Watson goes head to head with Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. That game is likely to be a shootout, making Watson an elite fantasy play in Week 6 as well.
