Derrius Guice's NFL career has been off to a slow start, as injuries have limited him to just three game this season after missing his entire rookie year with a torn ACL. Coming off a disappointing performance against the Detroit Lions in Week 12, Guice is set up for another good fantasy matchup this Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.

Guice will face a Panthers defense that is giving up the third-most fantasy points to running backs, as they are permitting 5.0 yards per carry and an NFL-high 19 rushing touchdowns. The matchup is ideal for Guice, as long as the Redskins can keep the game competitive. Carolina (5-6) will be playing at home and is desperate for a win following three straight losses.

Another thing complicating Guice's outlook this Sunday will be his workload. Despite an emphasis to get the young back going, Guice is still splitting carries with longtime vet Adrian Peterson, as both players received 10 totes in Week 12. Chris Thompson is also making his return following a five-game absence, further muddling the backfield situation against Carolina.

Guice is the 29th ranked running back in our Week 13 PPR rankings, with the potential to finish much higher if the game flow and workload go in his favor on Sunday.
