The Tennessee Titans needed to rely on Derrick Henry even more in Week 8 with starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill sidelined. Henry responded by carving up the Houston Texans en route to a 17-10 win.
Now Henry has been recognized by the league for his efforts.
Henry was named the AFC's Offensive Player of the Week for his performance this past Sunday. Dre'Mont Jones (defensive POTW) and Nick Folk (special teams POTW) joined him as the other AFC winners, while Christian McCaffrey took home the same award in the NFC.
Henry's dominant showing was vintage stuff from the future Hall-of-Famer. He handled a whopping 32 carries against Houston, and he turned that into 219 yards and 2 touchdowns. He scored more points and gained more yards than the Texans did as an entire team, showcasing how special his day truly was.
This marks the superstar's seventh all-time POTW win. He previously won Offensive Player of the Week honors in 2018, 2019, 2020 (x2) and 2021 (x2).
