As Derrick Henry and the Tennessee Titans prepare to begin offseason festivities, Henry has himself involved with another professional sports franchise in Tennessee. The Nashville Soccer Club announced on Tuesday that Henry has joined the club as a minority owner, along with actress Reese Witherspoon and media and technology investor Jim Toth.
Henry has become a prominent and popular member of the Nashville and Tennessee community throughout his time and success with the Titans, and this only strengthens that.
Henry spoke about what joining this ownership group meant to him, on both a business and personal level.
“As a kid growing up in Florida, I imagined being a professional sports owner and the opportunity to do that with a Major League Soccer club is truly a dream come true. My investment in Nashville SC is way more than financial, it’s truly an investment in the city of Nashville. The chance to be part of a club like Nashville SC, especially after seeing what they are accomplishing in the community, was an opportunity I did not want to miss.”- Derrick Henry
Titans and Tennessee sports fans are surely thrilled to see Henry commit himself further to the Nashville community and for their new soccer stadium to open, it should make for a very exciting 2022 in Music City.
