D'Eriq King Linked to Dolphins in Latest Draft Rumors

The Miami Dolphins have used the NFL offseason to overhaul their offense, which includes bringing in superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Unfortunately, it appears as if the Dolphins still have work to do before they're a contender with FanDuel Sportsbook only giving them +3600 odds (T-No. 16) to win Super Bowl LVII.
The Dolphins can find more help at the 2022 NFL Draft next month and they're already being linked to an exciting player. Pro Football Network's Aaron Wilson reported Saturday that the organization is being linked to University of Miami quarterback D'Eriq King.
Deriq King invited to Miami Dolphins' local prospect day and has Pro Day next week after being unable to work out at NFL scouting combine due to a shoulder injury, and has interest from other NFL teams as a wide receiver: @PFN365 https://t.co/LjVDCp00lj

Dolphins NFL Draft
Dolphins fans shouldn't worry because the team isn't looking at King to replace Tua Tagovailoa under center. Instead, they're hoping to convert the promising prospect to a wide receiver role.
King made 61 receptions over his six-year collegiate career between Miami and Houston for 520 yards and three touchdowns. He was also a solid rushing, turning 423 carries into 2,055 yards and 32 TDs — which was on top of the fact that he registered 8,378 passing yards and 76 TDs on 661 completions.
With Hill and Jaylen Waddle on the outside, the ideal scenario for the Dolphins would be for King to play the slot. With his running and receiving skills, they could also use him in a gadget role similar to how the New Orleans Saints have used Taysom Hill throughout his career.
The Dolphins will get a few more chances to look at King. He's been invited to their local prospect day next week and will be showcased as the Miami Hurricanes' Pro Day shortly after.
The 2022 NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday, April 28 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, NV.
