The Tennessee Titans have been one of the biggest surprises in the AFC. Even with injuries to superstars like Derrick Henry and Julio Jones, Tennessee currently holds the No. 1 seed in the AFC at 8-2.

While most believed a foot injury would keep Henry out for the rest of the season, there's reportedly a real chance he returns in early January. That's incredible news for a Titans team with an inside track on a first-round bye.

Derrick Henry Injury Update

It's important to note that Henry is far from out of the woods. He could suffer a setback, or the recovery could just move slower than anticipated.

But an "early January" return would be the best-case scenario. Barring a shocking collapse, Tennessee's first playoff game would be the weekend of Jan. 14. If the Titans hold onto that first-round bye, Henry could even have until the weekend of Jan. 21 to recover for the playoffs.

And thanks to their wins over the 6-3 Buffalo Bills and 6-4 Kansas City Chiefs, the Titans own the tiebreaker against two of their biggest competitors. At this point, a first-round bye appears more likely than not.

Facing a healthy Derrick Henry on the road in the postseason has to be a scary thought for the rest of the AFC.
