The New York Jets used their 2020 second-round pick to take wide receiver Denzel Mims, but the young pass-catcher has yet to live up to his potential. While he showed flashes as a rookie, Mims is reportedly not believed to be a fit in new Jets offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur's offense. As a result, Mims has been working with the third team and is reportedly the No. 6 WR on the depth chart.

ESPN's Rich Cimini is speculating that this could end in a trade. If New York does elect to move on, here are three teams that could take a chance on Mims.

Denzel Mims Trade Rumors

3. New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints are suddenly thin at the wide receiver position given the injury to starter Michael Thomas. The team recently signed Chris Hogan to a short-term deal, but it wouldn't be surprising to see the front office acquire Mims as well. Mims averaged a solid 15.5 yards per catch during his rookie season and has the speed to get open down the field. A fresh start may be exactly what the 23-year-old needs to improve in the fall. With an asking price of a low draft pick, Mims could be an underrated trade target for the Saints.

2. Detroit Lions

It is no secret that the Detroit Lions aren't exactly strong in the WR department. They lost both of their top wideouts to free agency this offseason (Kenny Golladay & Marvin Jones) and currently have veteran Tyrell Williams slated to be the No. 1 option. Detroit seems to be rebuilding for the future and Mims is a young player the Lions could take a chance on. The former Baylor Bear is just two years removed from posting over 1,000 yards and 12 touchdowns during his final college season. Mims could be the spark that this offense is looking for.

1. Houston Texans

Coming off a 4-12 season, it is clear that the Houston Texans need to improve their roster if they want any shot at competing in the next few years. The team is expected to roll out Brandin Cooks and rookie Nico Collins with the first team offense. Mims is a name to watch in this situation as he could compete for the WR3 role right away. He needs to improve on his 52.3% catch percentage from last season, but Mims comes with great athletic ability and motivation to prove the doubters wrong. A rebuilding Houston team may be the perfect spot for him.
