Deebo Samuel Pressuring 49ers for New Contract Following Stefon Diggs Extension

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs became the latest player at his position to cash in, signing a four-year extension worth up to $104 million on Wednesday. As more and more star wideouts get paid, it sets the market for rising talents in need of new deals, like Deebo Samuel of the San Francisco 49ers.
Coming off of his productive season yet, Samuel is putting pressure on San Francisco to pay him what he's worth.

The former second-round pick reacted with an all-caps tweet following news of Diggs' extension, clearing showing some surprise.
That isn't enough on its own to be panicked. The 49ers said at the beginning of the offseason they were working to extend Samuel, but the recent money given to Diggs, Davante Adams and Tyreek Hill could certainly change those conversations.
Further adding intrigue to this situation is Samuel unfollowing the team on Instagram.

No one can blame Samuel for wanting to strike while the market is hot. He's fresh off of a career season in which he starred as a dual threat WR/RB combo, totaling a whopping 1,770 yards from scrimmage and 18 total TDs.
There's no denying how much of a game-changer the South Carolina product is following a First Team All-Pro selection, and it could be in San Francisco's best interest to lock him up quickly before he considers alternatives.
