Deebo Samuel got the scoring started for the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, taking a 13-yard run to the house against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Samuel had to fight his way to the pylon on the play, and he ended up colliding with a photographer after he crossed into the end zone.

Some called out the playmaker for stepping over the member of the media following the touchdown. Samuel responded by issuing an apology on Monday.

The Niners star said he simply was caught up in the moment and didn't realize what he did until after he watched it back. Samuel was remorseful and extended his apologies to the person involved.

The outrage over Samuel's step-over was nothing short of ridiculous, as he didn't do anything egregious in the moment. However, critics took the moment and used it to attack the former All-Pro.

Despite this being a faux controversy, Samuel handled it in the best way possible with his heartfelt message. It certainly shows Samuel's true character that he even addressed the madeup issue while dealing with a serious injury that caused him to exit Sunday's game.
