Coming into the 2019 season, David Montgomery was one of the most highly-touted rookies and a running back that many people had on their radar ahead of fantasy drafts.

Although, Montgomery disappointed in Week 1, putting up only 18 rushing yards on six attempts and 27 receiving yards on one reception with no scores. His low fantasy total in Week 1 was only compounded by his lack of snap share too, with his companion running backs Mike Davis and Tarik Cohen both receiving more touches.

While it was not an ideal Week 1 output, Week 2 painted a much different picture of Montgomery's potential future usage. He took the clear lead in terms of snap share in Week 2, even surpassing Cohen. Montgomery had a 44 percent snap rate, while Cohen came in second with 38 percent.

Montgomery's production saw a big increase with the improved snap count as well. In Week 2, Montgomery was able to put up one touchdown on 16 rushing yards and 30 receiving yards on three receptions.

His improvement in play should only help increase his workload as the season carries on. It was believed by many that Montgomery would eventually become the Bears' clear lead back, it was just a matter of how long it might take. And judging by Week 2, the process has seemingly already begun.
