David Johnson Injury Update Makes Chase Edmonds Fantasy Must-Start in Week 8

One week removed from playing only two snaps, Arizona Cardinals' running back David Johnson has been ruled out for the Cardinals' Week 8 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons. This paves the way for Chase Edmonds to start and significantly bumps up his fantasy outlook.

Johnson has been battling a series of injuries for the past three weeks, and in that time Edmonds has capitalized on increased opportunity. In that span he has 228 rushing yards for three touchdowns and 75 receiving yards for one touchdown.
The majority of those numbers came in his Week 7 matchup against the New York Giants that saw him carry the ball 27 times for 126 yards and three touchdowns.
Now, in Week 8, Edmonds faces off against a difficult matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Despite the tough matchup, Edmonds is playing in an offense that is averaging 4.8 yards per carry and boasts one of the most successful rushing attacks in the league.

Given what we've seen out of Edmonds in his limited opportunities, it is not crazy to expect another big game out of the second-year pro. Whether or not the Saints D scares you off, we at least know he will have the opportunity to do so.
