Matt Nagy's time with the Chicago Bears came to a much-needed end after the 2021 season. Since then, players (like quarterback Justin Fields) haven't been afraid to offer criticism of their former head coach.
Wide receiver Darnell Mooney is the latest to praise the new staff while also taking a shot at the old regime.
Mooney told the Red Line Radio podcast the difference between new head coach Matt Eberflus and Nagy is night and day. Eberflus has been commended for ushering in a new vibe and productive approach, while Nagy clearly lacked in both areas.
"Everybody knows where to go, when to do something, what's the expectation. You know what you're getting out of the next day, it's not coming in and going 'uh, what do we got going on?'"- Darnell Mooney
It's great to hear Eberflus is nothing like his predecessor. His ability to run a smooth ship has already won over some players like Mooney, who were accustomed to a chaotic work flow under Nagy.
Hopefully Eberflus doesn't just improve morale, but the team's record, too. Chicago has almost nowhere to go but up after a 6-11 campaign in 2021.
NFL win total odds on FanDuel Sportsbook currently favor the Bears to go over 6.5 wins (-115) this season.
