Darius Garland Stats
Darius Garland played just five games for Vanderbilt before suffering a season-ending knee injury in his freshman season, but he made an impact for the Commodores in his short college career. He averaged 16.2 points per game on 53.7 percent shooting from the field. He was also efficient from long range, averaging 2.2 made 3-pointers per game with 47.8 percent efficiency.
Aside from being an electric scorer, Garland has a true team-first mentality. From being a scrappy defender to making slick passes to set up his teammates, Garland is able to lift the play of everyone around him. However, he is coming off a meniscus injury and likely needs to put on more weight at the NBA level, but these are points that he should be able to overcome and address.

Darius Garland NBA Draft Predictions
- Phoenix Suns (No. 6) or Los Angeles Lakers (No. 4)
The Suns have been desperate for a point guard for a while, and Garland would pair nicely with the talented young core already on the team. Pairing up with Devin Booker in the backcourt, last year's No. 1 overall pick Deandre Ayton, and front-court players in Kelly Oubre and T.J. Warren, that could be a quality starting five for years to come in Phoenix.
The Lakers do have Lonzo Ball, but the team still needs another ball handler besides LeBron James. Selecting Garland would give the Lakers both talent and depth at the point-guard position, with players that have a pass-first mentality. There is also the scenario that Los Angeles trades away Ball, which is even more incentive for the Lakers to select Garland with their top-5 pick.
