Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers are off to a hot start this season, currently holding an 8-3 record and tied for the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference with the Phoenix Suns and the Denver Nuggets.
Lillard, per usual, is the impetus behind this early success, but the Blazers will be without their All-Star point guard on Thursday against the New Orleans Pelicans. Lillard is missing the contest due to a calf injury.
This is an injury that Lillard reportedly played through on Wednesday, so it can't be too serious. Although, coming into the second game of a back-to-back, it's wise for Portland to be cautious with their franchise player.
The Blazers are 9-point road favorites in Thursday's game against the Pelicans, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NBA odds.
