Heading into the 2019 season, there were plenty of question marks surrounding Minnesota Vikings' running back Dalvin Cook. Whether it stemmed from injury history or the team's play calling, Cook seemed to be far from a sure thing. Although, as we near the end of Week 2, the third-year back has proven he can be that legitimate fantasy RB1 to count on while on the field.

Throughout his career, Cook has been consistently efficient with his volume and numbers whenever totaling more than 15 touches in one game. Cook has averaged over 20 fantasy points per game when receiving that many touches. This past Sunday, Cook saw only 10 touches, but he still managed to garner just shy of 19 fantasy points.

Dalvin Cook Fantasy Outlook

Cook's effectiveness should seemingly only strengthen his case for additional volume as the season goes on. Regardless of a team's desired style of play, there has to be some element of going with what works, and giving the ball to Cook has surely been working.

The Vikings' defense is also talented enough that it should keep them in games to ensure the run doesn't disappear late in games too often while they're playing catch up.

Even if that does turn out to be the case, Cook is not completely useless in the passing game either. He does have five catches for 46 yards through the first two weeks, which is also a number that would likely increase if he wasn't so effective on the ground.

As long as he remains healthy, Dalvin Cook's fantasy owners should feel more than comfortable slotting him in at the RB1 spot week in and week out.
