The ins and out of the seemingly ever-unfolding drama of Dak Prescott and his long-term contract negotiations with the Dallas Cowboys feel like they've been in the same spot for some time now.

While quite a few figures have been bounced around between desires from Prescott's camp and counters from Jerry Jones and the Cowboys' front office, the reality remains that Prescott is currently not signed to long-term contract in Dallas nor tethered to a long-term future in Big D either.

However, the latest news on Prescott's demands come at quite the size as far as requests are concerned.

That's right, according to Mike Fisher of SI.com, Prescott wants to be the second-highest paid quarterback in the NFL behind Kansas City Chiefs superstar QB Patrick Mahomes, who recently signed a 10-year, $450,000,000 contract with the Chiefs through 2031.

Dak Prescott Contract

Dak Prescott is technically an unrestricted free agent at the moment, but he was most recently franchise-tagged by the Cowboys for the 2020 NFL season at a base salary of $31,409,000.

Dak Prescott Salary & Career Earnings

Prescott's 2020 salary of $31,409,00 was quite the jump from his previous four years of earnings on his rookie contract in the NFL. Prior to 2020, Prescott had never earned more than $2.2 million per year and a total of roughly $4.9 million. However, after the 2020 season, Prescott has now earned a grand total of $36,312,172 heading into the 2021 season.
