Sunday was a good day for the Chicago Cubs. Not only did the team take down the Milwaukee Brewers 2-0 to avoid a sweep, but the Cubs' Single-A affiliate had a historic performance.

Three Myrtle Beach Pelicans pitchers combined to throw a no-hitter against the Columbia Fireflies.

Myrtle Beach Pelicans No-Hitter

Cubs prospect Walker Powell got things started against Columbia and set the tone with just over five hitless innings. He then handed off to lefty Adam Laskey, who blanked the Fireflies for another two innings before Jake Reindl sealed the deal.

This was just the third no-hitter in Pelicans history, with the second taking place less than a year ago on June 23, 2021 -- also against Columbia. The first no-no for Myrtle Beach was secured in 2012.

Hopefully the organization's hot start to the month is a sign of things to come. Chicago sits tied for third place in the NL Central, but a strong May could put them right back on the Brewers' heels.
