At long last, the 2021 MLB season is finally almost here. Spring Training has been weird, the 2020 season was an unusual one, and baseball fans have to be excited about getting back to seeing a baseball product that's a lot closer to what they're used to.

Chicago Cubs fans will get to see their team kick off the season with an Opening Day home game against the Pittsburgh Pirates on April 1.

Cubs Starting Pitcher Opening Day 2021

On Tuesday, Cubs manager David Ross confirmed who will be on the mound for the Cubs on opening day — righty Kyle Hendricks.

This is no surprise, as Hendricks is the clear leader in the rotation, but it's still exciting to have our first pitching confirmation of the season.

The shortened 2020 season one of Hendricks' best in the majors, as he turned in a 2.88 ERA (best since 2016), a 1.00 WHIP (also his best since 2016) and posted a career-low 0.89 walks per nine innings.

The Cubs aren't being given much love in the NL Central odds and predictions for 2021, and FanDuel Sportsbook has their win total over/under set at 78.5 games.
