The MLB season is quickly approaching and you can already bet on which team is going to win the World Series thanks to the odds posted on FanDuel Sportsbook. When it comes to an underrated team with low odds that could shock some people, the Chicago Cubs are the perfect definition.

Cubs World Series Odds 2021

The Cubs are currently tied with the Philadelphia Phillies for the 15th-highest odds to win the World Series next season at +3500. That number is downright disrespectful and trails two other teams in the NL Central division (St. Louis Cardinals +2400 and Cincinnati Reds +3200).

The Cubs lineup is stacked with experienced hitters such as Anthony Rizzo (.342 OBP last season) and Ian Happ (18 home runs). Despite losing Kyle Schwarber to free agency, the Cubs lineup was able to replace him with another powerful long ball hitter in former Los Angeles Dodger Joc Pederson.

Another reason the Cubs were able to make the playoffs last season was their stellar pitching staff. Bolstered by ace Kyle Hendricks, a new look Cubs rotation highlighted by offseason additions in Trevor Williams and Zach Davies will look to replicate the 3.98 ERA the team posted last season (No. 7 in the MLB).

Despite winning the NL Central division with a 34-26 record and making the 2020 MLB playoffs, the Cubs are somehow stuck right in the middle of the MLB when it comes to their World Series odds. The poise and leadership the veterans on this team have shown over the years prove they should be within the top 10.
