Cowboys Odds to Make the Playoffs Points to Strong Start for Mike McCarthy
By Max Staley

The Dallas Cowboys were one of the most confounding teams in the league last year. Despite ranking top 10 in yards per play on offense (6.5; No. 1 in the NFL) and defense (5.2; T-No. 9), Dallas finished 8-8, missing the postseason.
That underwhelming campaign caused the team to move on from head coach Jason Garrett, replacing him with former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy. And if the latest odds to make the postseason are any indication, McCarthy could get off to a strong start in Dallas, per FanDuel Sportsbook.

Cowboys Odds to Make the Postseason
Dallas is listed at -225 to make the playoffs, and +180 to miss the postseason. That's a pretty sizable advantage over the reigning NFC East champs, as the Philadelphia Eagles are -174 to qualify, and +142 to be on the outside looking in.
Coming off what was widely viewed as one of the best drafts in the league, it's not hard to see why the oddsmakers are so optimistic about the team. The Cowboys added big-name talents like CeeDee Lamb, Trevon Diggs and Neville Gallimore. With Dak Prescott leading one of the best skill-position groups in the league, this offense could be a force to be reckoned with in 2020.
Notably, Dallas is also available at +105 to win the NFC East, while Philadelphia has just the second-best odds at +140.

Of course, this doesn't necessarily guarantee anything, but it's certainly a good sign for the Cowboys' chances in 2020.
