Cowboys Fans Will Love Dak Prescott's MVP Odds

After missing most of the 2020 NFL season with a major ankle injury, people wondered if Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott could bounce back. The good news is that he doesn't look like he's lost a step after Dallas' first four games, and his latest NFL MVP odds on FanDuel Sportsbook reflect that.
Prescott's odds to be named this year's Most Valuable Player sit at +900 odds following the Cowboys' 36-28 Week 5 win over the Carolina Panthers. That puts him in a tie for fifth-best odds with Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers.

Dak Prescott MVP Odds
Prescott may have only thrown for 188 passing yards against the Panthers, but he also threw for four touchdowns — the third time in four games this year that he's finished with at least three.
Prescott's 10 passing TDs this year put him in a tie with Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom Brady for third in the NFL. Meanwhile, the Cowboys gunslinger ranks second in completion percentage (75.2%) and fourth in passer rating (116.9).
The fact that Dallas' offensive line has done a better job at protecting their quarterback this year is a big reason why Prescott has been able to have an MVP-quality campaign. The Cowboys gave up 2.8 sacks per game in 2020 — tied for the seventh-worst average — whereas they're surrendering just 1.8 per game this year (T-7th).

All it takes is at Dallas' offensive numbers to see just how important Prescott is to the team. The Cowboys had a middle-of-the-pack offense last year, averaging 24.7 PPG (17th). Now that their signal-caller is back and healthy, they're averaging a whopping 31.5 PPG — the fourth-best total this year.
The crazy thing is that Prescott was viewed as the Comeback Player of the Year favorite before the 2021 campaign even began. The fact that he's already in the MVP conversation should be highly encouraging for Cowboys fans, especially as far as their team's playoff hopes are concerned.
Prescott will have the opportunity to gain more ground in the MVP race when Dallas hosts the rival New York Giants at home this Sunday.
