Updated (Saturday, Jan. 16, 3:10 p.m. EST): Los Angeles Rams' wide receiver Cooper Kupp has been ruled out due to a knee injury. This news should give Robert Woods' fantasy outlook a slight boost, but it doesn't improve his value too much.
The Los Angeles Rams' offense might be the most banged up unit of any team left in the playoffs. Quarterback Jared Goff is severely limited by a thumb issue, and his backup John Wolford has been ruled out for the Divisional Round as well.
To make matters worse, the team's No. 1 wide receiver, Cooper Kupp, is going to be a game-time decision and is not a lock to play against the Green Bay Packers. This makes him a really risky fantasy option, and one that's probably best left on your bench.
Cooper Kupp Fantasy
For one, there's no guarantee Kupp will play. It sounds like he's going to test his knee out in pre-game warmups, meaning fantasy managers won't have much time to react and make a lineup change if he's ultimately ruled out.
Plus, even if he does suit up, he's likely going to be playing at less than 100%, catching passes from a quarterback who is also playing hurt. Pair that with the fact that he's likely to line up against superstar CB Jaire Alexander, and Kupp is not someone you want to rely on this week.
Regardless of whether or not he's ultimately active, fantasy managers should avoid Kupp on Saturday.
