With Damien Williams having opted out of the season, Clyde Edwards-Helaire looks set to become the feature back for the Kansas City Chiefs. Of course, that RB1 role in a Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid-led offense will almost always lead to big-time production, so CEH looks set to become an instant star at the NFL level.
In fact, Edwards-Helaire's odds to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year have already skyrocketed as a result of the increased role, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
Following the 2020 NFL Draft, CEH had the second-best odds to win the award, at +800. But with the Williams news, Edwards-Helaire's odds have shot all the way up to +360. He still trails Joe Burrow (+230), but there's a pretty significant gap between CEH and the third-place Tua Tagovailoa (+800).
Set for a massive role in one of the NFL's best offenses, it should come as no surprise that Edwards-Helaire has a real shot to win the 2020 Offensive Rookie of the Year.
