College football is built on rivalries, including the Textile Bowl — an annual affair played between the ACC's Clemson Tigers and NC State Wolfpack. This year's edition takes place on Saturday and the Tigers fans are already bringing some top-tier trash talk to the table.

One Clemson fan showed up to Memorial Stadium early Saturday morning with a sign that read "NC State's only notable alum is Ciara's husband."

For those unfamiliar, Ciara is a singer/songwriter married to Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson, who spent three seasons under center with the Wolf Pack.

Textile Bowl 2022

Wilson may have been drafted out of Wisconsin, but it's clear that Clemson fans won't forget about his time with rival NC State. After all, the Wolfpack went 0-3 at the Textile Bowl in the three seasons with the former Super Bowl champion as their quarterback.

Having said that, NC State did produce more notable alums than just Wilson. Other past greats that played for the Wolfpack include eight-time Pro-Bowl quarterback Philip Rivers, eight-time 1,000-yard receiver Torry Holt and three-time All-Pro defensive end Mario Williams.

Nevertheless, it's always easy to take a shot at Wilson due to his popularity and interesting personality. Besides, Clemson fans definitely have the right to talk trash after their school has won 15 of the last 17 Textile Bowls.

Only time will tell if Clemson will continue its rivalry dominance or if "Ciara's husband's" alma mater can score its second Textile Bowl victory in as many years. Both programs are 4-0 at the moment, meaning fans of both sides are likely in for an entertaining affair this weekend.

NC State vs Clemson Odds

All signs point to Clemson continuing its success over NC State. FanDuel Sportsbook currently lists the Tigers as 6.5-point home favorites over the Wolfpack with -118 odds to cover the spread.
