Christian McCaffrey Injury Update Boosts Mike Davis Fantasy Outlook in Week 12

Carolina Panthers star running back Christian McCaffrey has officially been ruled out of the team's Week 12 game. As we've seen time and time again this season, Mike Davis will be working as the Carolina Panthers' lead back.

Facing a beatable Minnesota Vikings' defense, Davis should serve as a rock-solid RB2 in Week 12.

Mike Davis Fantasy Outlook

Davis has actually been doing a pretty solid McCaffrey impression this season. A factor as both a rusher and a receiver, Davis is currently the RB9 in PPR formats despite playing three full games behind McCaffrey on the depth chart.

In the eight starts he's had for CMC since Week 3, Davis is averaging 55.6 rushing yards and 24.6 receiving yards per game on a healthy 18.9 opportunities per contest. That's some real RB1-level volume.

Now facing a below-average Vikings' run defense that ranks No. 19 by DVOA, Davis should look like his usual, reliable self in Week 12. He should slot in as a high-end RB2 or low-end RB1 in PPR formats this week.
