The seven-time All-Star told reporters that he's slated to have an MRI on Thursday. Sale is hoping the scan will show "improvement" since he's feeling "much better" following the initial injury diagnosis.
It's certainly exciting to hear Sale talk optimistically about his recovery. The MRI will be the final judge on if he's truly making progress, but it's great there's been no setbacks yet.
Sale impressed in his return from Tommy John surgery last year, posting a 5-1 record and 3.16 ERA across 42.2 innings. He could play a huge role in the Red Sox's championship hopes if he can stay healthy this season.
The Red Sox own +2500 odds to win the World Series in 2022, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
