Chris Sale's rehab journey has been a long and drawn out one, keeping Boston Red Sox fans on the edge of their seat all year.

Fans got what might be the best update yet on Sunday night, when Sale dazzled in what could end up being his final rehab start with Triple-A Worcester.

Sale notched 8 strikeouts, throwing 59 strikes on 89 pitches, allowing just 3 hits and 3 walks across 4 2/3 innings.

He now has five rehab starts under his belt, having thrown a combined 20 innings and looking completely dominant.

The Red Sox pitching staff has struggled lately, giving up 8 runs to the Detroit Tigers on Thursday and 12 to the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday, and getting Sale back into the rotation could give this team a massive boost with the postseason looming.

With their recent hiccups, FanDuel Sportsbook's MLB odds have Boston with the second-best odds (+190) to win the AL East in 2021.
