Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker was carted off the field with an ankle injury during Sunday's win over the Arizona Cardinals. Although Butker had a Kobe Bryant moment and came back on the field to drill a 54-yard field goal on essentially one leg, he was unable to finish the game and could be on the shelf for a while.

Harrison Butker Injury Update

Kansas City is bringing in young kicker Tristan Viscaino for a workout today. This signals that Butker is expected to be out for at least Week 2 and potentially beyond.

Clearly the Chiefs don't think having safety Justin Reid kicking for them is a good enough solution while Butker is out, despite him looking pretty good on his first attempt after Butker's departure.

Vizcaino has two years of NFL experience, but the 26-year-old has only played in seven total games for the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Chargers. He's made nine of his 10 career field goal attempts, although he's never attempted a field goal of 50 yards or more in an NFL game.

It will be interesting to see if Vizcaino can win the short-term job out of this tryout or if Kansas City decides to bring in someone with a little more experience. Butker has been one of the better kickers in the NFL throughout his career, so his replacement has big shoes to fill.
