Chiefs' Potential Week 1 Opponent for 2022 Season Revealed

Kansas City Chiefs fans are ready to see this team in action after a busy offseason. The official NFL schedule release for the 2022 season on Thursday will let the Chiefs know exactly when and where they'll be playing as they look to make another Super Bowl run.

Ahead of the official release, it appears Kansas City's Week 1 opponent has been revealed.

Chiefs Week 1 Opponent

Rob Collins of FOX 4 Kansas City points out there's several reports claiming the Chiefs will open the season against the Houston Texans. If the leaks are true, KC will be traveling for a road game at NRG Stadium in Houston.

Though nothing is confirmed, there's been significant chatter around a Chiefs-Texans Week 1 matchup.

Darren Smith of Sports Radio 810 in Kansas City reported on Monday the feeling "inside the Chiefs" is the team will travel to Houston for a noon kickoff for an "easy" opener before playing on Thursday Night Football in Week 2.

Facing off against a Texans team that finished 4-13 last season would be a great tune-up game for the Chiefs as they work in several new pieces on both sides of the ball.
