The Kansas City Chiefs bounced back with a convincing 41-31 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 4. Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire was at the center of the action, tallying 94 yards from scrimmage with a pair of TDs.

The good news doesn't apply to every running back on Kansas City's roster, however. Rookie RB Jerrion Ealy was hit with a hefty suspension for violating the league's performance-enhancing substance policy on Monday afternoon.

Chiefs News

NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported Ealy, who sits on the practice squad, will be forced to miss the next six games. The team brought back wide receiver Marcus Kemp to fill his practice squad spot.

Ealy is merely seen as a depth piece at this point. The undrafted rookie has been unable to crack the active roster and remains behind at least four running backs on the depth chart (CEH, Isiah Pacheco, Jerick McKinnon and Ronald Jones).

The former Ole Miss standout tallied a trio of 700+ yard rushing seasons during his collegiate days, highlighted by a 9-TD performance during his sophomore campaign.

This suspension certainly doesn't do his early NFL career any favors.

Fortunately, Ealy's suspension won't have any effect on Kansas City's day-to-day operations in 2022. The team moved to 3-1 with their Week 4 win and sit firmly with the second-best odds (+700) to win Super Bowl 57 on FanDuel Sportsbook.
