The Kansas City Chiefs made waves on Tuesday afternoon, acquiring former Seattle Seahawks' defensive end Frank Clark. This trade came at a hefty price for Kansas City, as the Chiefs traded their 2019 first-round pick, a 2020 second-round pick, and are swapping third-round picks with the Seahawks in 2019.
While the trade was costly, Clark tallied 14.0 sacks last season and he should add some bite to Kansas City's pass rush. However, adding Clark hasn't affected the Chiefs' odds to win the Super Bowl next season, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
The Chiefs were +700 to win Super Bowl LIV on March 13, but they've been holding steady at +800 since April 16. Kansas City currently has the second-best odds to win next year's Super Bowl, trailing only the New England Patriots (+700).
Even though Clark hasn't changed the Chiefs' odds, he could help Kansas City finally knock off the Patriots this season.
Meanwhile, behind the Patriots and Chiefs are two NFC powers, the New Orleans Saints (+850) and the Los Angeles Rams (+900).
That means the final four teams from last year's postseason are the favorites to win this year's Super Bowl. All four teams feature explosive offenses led by great quarterbacks, so it's no surprise they're still the favorites.
Overall, these odds will likely continue to change as the offseason progresses, and we could see a massive shift after the 2019 NFL Draft. But as things currently stand, the Patriots are still favored to take home the Lombardi Trophy, even after the Chiefs added Clark.
